Demo announcement - Devlog #7


It has been a while since my last post. But I'm still here working on the game. I made a lot of progress since then and I'm going to give you a brief overview of what happened. It's been almost a year now since I started, wow! :)

I'm preparing a demo version at the moment because I'd like to get some actual feedback from you. But I also suffer a bit from perfectionism, so it took this long until I felt comfortable with releasing something playable. Maybe you know the feeling? :) The todo list for this first demo is getting shorter and shorter and I'm hoping to release it quite soon. Please follow me to stay up to date.

My backlog still has about 15 items that need to be implemented / fixed. The biggest todo on the list is getting some sounds into the game. It's something I've been putting off for a while. But I really want to at least put some placeholders in. :D

The demo will show the current state of the game where you will be able to explore a large part of the "Riverside" route. More will come in a later update. Here is a list of what you can expect:

  • Pick one of 4 different starter monsters.
  • There are 3 different monsters you can catch in the wild.
  • Each monster has 3 unique attacks that can be leveled up individually to make them stronger. But you have to decide which attack to level up first.
  • The maximum monster level is 5 at the moment. At level 6 they will learn an additional 4th attack, but that's for a future update.
  • NPC battles: You can have up to 6 monsters in your team. Battles are 6v6 although most NPCs in the demo won't have that many monsters in their team.
  • Challenge the demo boss to win the demo! :)
