v0.2 New Demo - New zones, new monsters, evolutions and more!
Hello everyone,
a new version of Monsters of Windy Peak is now online. Download it now and start your adventure! Thank you so much for playing! Please remember that the game is still in development. I appreciate every feedback, so leave a short (or long) comment after playing.
Many things have changed. Take a look at the notes below or jump directly into the game and explore it for yourself.
1) Battle redesign:
In the first version of the game you could have up to 6 monsters in your team and battles were meant to be 6 vs 6. This lead to some balancing issues in the early game and also made battles quite long and tedious. Now there are only 4 monsters allowed in your team. Opponents usually will also be limited to 4 monsters. But there will be special encounters (in future patches of the game) where you will have to face the challenge of battling against a larger group.
2) New monsters and evolutions:
There are now 9 different monster types in the games. 7 of them have been given an evolution line. In future updates every monster will likely have at least one evolution.
Starter monsters are not catchable in the wild right now, but they will be in a later version of the game.
3) Zone redesign:
The starting zones were redesigned to make the adventure more linear in the beginning. After receiving the first badge, the world will open up more and become less linear (in later updates of the game).
Three new zones were added in this patch.
4) Battle Arena
The first battle arena is now in the game and you can earn the first arena badge.
5) Items and potions
Items have been added to the game. They provide bonuses for monsters, when they are equipped. Equippment slots can be unlocked by leveling up and spending skill points.
Potions can be bought inside the city of Kyst. Every monster can equip one potion. The potion slot needs to be unlocked at a certain level (like the item slots). Different potions will have different effects, that will trigger, when the monsters health falls below 50%. The Ruby Potion for example will heal the monster by 20%, when their health drops below the 50% mark. This will help the survival of the monster, when it receives a lot of damage at once. Potions will refill automatically after the battle, so they will be ready once every battle!
6) Player skills
New player skills were added to be used in battles to aid your monsters.
